Jennifer Mei, AIA, LEED AP, was born in the mountains of Northern Utah and grew up in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona. Her mom, a teacher, and dad, a civil engineer, took a leap of faith and moved to Phoenix to join a burgeoning family pizza business in the 80’s. Jen spent her teenage years in the restaurant industry and was part of the family business until attending the University of Arizona to study Architecture. Upon graduation, her family’s shared love of the mountains drew her to Jackson, Wyoming, and she has been practicing in the western mountain region ever since. Jen spent 13 years at CLB Architects where she developed a specialty in interior architecture and interior design. Her approach is collaborative, wide-ranging, and rooted in the idea that the solutions to the most complicated problems are disciplined, elegant, and functional. As a child she studied ballet and developed a fundamental appreciation for form, proportion, and line, which still influence her work.
Jen’s brother, Aric, also a designer and a restaurateur, owns and operates The Parlor in Phoenix, as well as the Arizona branch of Thousand Design. You can see it here: http://thousanddesign.com
